Inspired by Hobo
Our sanctuary, Hoboshomelesskittens, was born from a deeply personal experience. It began with the rescue of a tiny feral cat named Hobo. Though Hobo passed away at the age of four from congestive heart failure, his memory lives on. We named our sanctuary after him, honoring his spirit and dedicating ourselves to caring for other vulnerable felines.
Meet Magnus and our family
Over the years, we have rescued more than 40 cats, each with their own unique story. Magnus, our oldest resident at approximately 12 years old, is a true testament to our work. He simply wandered into our trap after being run off by younger males in his colony. Now, he's the biggest love bug of all, not only a father but a grandfather to many of our cats, embodying the peace and safety we offer.
The importance of TNR
After learning about Hoboshomelesskittens, we hope visitors understand the critical role of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) in controlling the population of feral cats. Many of our cats suffer from autoimmune diseases, making them unadoptable. TNR not only prevents further suffering but also allows us to provide a safe, free-roaming environment for those who need it most, ensuring ongoing vet care and medication for these special felines.
